Alliance between Belgrade and Mt. Vernon Fire Departments
announced by Chief Dana Dunn
Both
fire departments have agreed to automatically respond to each other’s mutual
aide calls for structure fires, chimney fires and ice rescues. This alliance is
helpful to Mt. Vernon because of Belgrade’s two 3,000-gallon tankers (Mt.
Vernon’s tankers have 1,000-gallon capacity). Belgrade benefits with Mt
Vernon’s foam tanker. The extra firefighters responding to calls are of mutual
benefit.
Lakes
Region Mutual Aide and Belgrade Fire Department (which is not part of Lakes
Region Mutual Aide) have helped each other in training and fighting fires for
many years.
Because
of our good relationship and being adjacent towns, it made sense to form this
alliance said Chief Dunn.
