Dear
Friend,
Enclosed please find an Honorary
Membership card for 2006. Through this activity we are able to subsidize our
funds to improve the quality of fire protection in our community.
Your generous donations last year helped us to continue renovating the second floor meeting room. Like most construction projects, this one turned out to be bigger and more expensive than originally planned. However, with your help, we are nearing completion and looking forward to using the space instead of working on it. If you haven’t already stopped for a look, please come by and see the new addition (or see us on the web page listed below). Many hours of donated labor helped to stretch the budget on this large addition. We are very proud of the progress and quality workmanship on this project. Our plans for the coming year include finishing the interior renovations to the meeting space. We also plan to rearrange the kitchen area to create a more efficient workspace.
After considerable effort to get files and reports
organized, the fire department was thoroughly reviewed by ISO (Insurance
Services Office) to determine our fire insurance rating. As a result, Mount
Vernon is now rated as a class 7/10 which is a considerable improvement over
our previous rating of 9/10. Your fire insurance premiums should go down. Ask
your insurance agent about this.
Your kind acceptance of this Honorary Membership in
the Mount Vernon Fire Company is appreciated and the donation you make will be
put to good use, as always. Please mail your donation in the enclosed
self-addressed envelope and accept our many thanks for your support. (Please make checks payable to the Mt.
Vernon Fire Company)
We offer additional services to the
community such as home inspection of wood stoves, smoke alarms, exits, etc. We
stand ready to assist and protect you 24 hours a day.
Many Thanks,
Dana Dunn, Chief
